Week 10: Blogging for Business
I strongly believe that human interest is an esstial component to blogging. This is because it can create a connection with the blogger and the reader. For example, if I were to add an interview on my blog of someone who just tried my coffee and pastries for the first time, it would not only show a good connection between me and my customers, but ut will also establish credebility between the reader, the food, and drinks I create. With that said, I believe it also sets the tone/mood of my cafe. While describing the food the interviewee may also describe the enviroment they are in. This may establish comfort with the reader knowing and feeling like they actually know my cafe.
One more great example that I may add is that if I were to read an article of a regular of a coffee shop and they began to describe a little back round information about the workers, owners, and other people that purchase foods I would feel very comfortable and persuaded to try it out myself. With pictures added, you can see the "behind the scenes" rather than just words in a blog and I feel like that is increbily important.
A scenario where adding human interest to a personal blog may be innapropriate is when you are a worker in a very confidential industry. For obvious purpose, it may be illegal to disclose such information and just plain wrong!
You brought up some great points on how making a blog personal can create a sense of security and credibility with your customers.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, if everyone takes careful consideration on what information to share that may be personal, I think they can create a well received and engaging blog.

I agree. The human touch will encourage your customers to become fans and promoters of your business as well.
