Week 8B: Get Visual
In the world of today, we have plenty of resources to find a coffee shop near by. We are able to look one up, find the location, the distance from where you are, the ratings, background information and much more. With the touch of a button on your cellphone, the information can provided through different social media and websites. For my personal business, I decided to use Instagram and Pinterest. I chose these two social websites because I firmly believe that the quality of pastries I will will be serving and the beautiful coffee aesthetic that comes with it will be provided in the future through my pages will call attention to customers. I also am very confident with the use of running an Instagram and Pinterest rather than Twitter or Facebook.
A few coffee shops that use Instagram and Pinterest for their brand are Starbucks, Peet's Coffee, Revolution Roasters, and JB Juice and Coffee. Looking through each one of these companies pages was very interesting. The all were very organized and well laid out. The didi have many differences though. Some pages and websites were more complex than the other and some were absolutely simple.
Looking through the lense of Instagram, I found that the aesthetic between Starbucks, Revolutionary Roasters and Peet's Coffee are very similar. Beautiful dark and brown tones, making every picture crisp and gorgeous. This is a great reflection of their organization of social media. On the other hand, JB Juice and Coffee are not so organized. Their page consists of a mix of boba drinks, chips and coffee only. While on the other hand the larger companies use a lot of pictures of people expressing joyful moments. I think this is important because it shows how personal the companies get even when they're huge corporations.
