Week 4A: Website Reviews

For this blog I decided to go with http://www.toyota.com & http://www.riversideartcenter.org
as well as http://www.apple.com & https://www.headhunterhairstyling.com

1. Toyota: The search engine located at the bottom of the page is a lot more visible than the one at the top. The color contrast through the whole page is only red, white and grey. The letter may be a little too small to read/ catch someones attention.
Art Center: The top of the page is a little hard to read due to the transparency and dark colors being used. The size of the text is a bit too small. The Facebook page picture in the middle is very unorganized and takes a lot of space. There is no search engine.
2. Toyota: Can add more color to their website. The colors make me feel a little bored on the website. They can also try to make the top left logo bigger.
Art Center: The color contrast they use (dark green and burnt orange) should be changed. A brighter green and light blue or pink would look very nice.
3. Apple: Apples simplicity is eye candy. Their organization skills are very impressive. The have aligned everything up perfectly
Headhunter Hairstyling: I love their website style. I like that the first thing I see is a picture of their location and a series of picture of their work. The color contrast they use is very clean and cute.

Comments

  1. The Art Center website wasn't too bad. I like their logo and I like how even when scrolling down, the navigation bar stayed with you so you could quickly jump to more information without having to scroll all the way back up. Visually I thought it had a warm feel to it and some nice images.

I thought the salon website could use some better quality photos to create a better image for themselves. Some of them were blurry and the photo of the outside of the building was a little sad. With the right photos I think they could have a great site.

Toyota and Apple are the sites I chose for the two I liked the most. Content was well laid out, great images, eye catching and overall pleasing to the eye.

  2. Hi Lorena. Toyota and Apple where my favorite website choices also and I love the design on Apple. Is easy to find what you looking for and very clean and well organized.

  3. I also looked at Toyota, but used to work for Apple years ago and loved the simple design and layout of both sites. I didn't mind the Art Center site either, but the Hairstyling site needed a little more words for me if I could give a critique about them. Great job!
